This outdoor light utilizes a clever study of solidity and emptiness. A massive piece of crystal is carved into a recessed channel to accommodate an Edison bulb set in a solid brass frame. The crystal shows its solidity when illuminated, refracting and reflecting the bulb inside, but assuming a weightless transparency in the dark.
